Liminal Exhibition
August 2022

This series began with wooden cut-out boards, shaped using a milling tool. The process created forms that suggest landscapes seen from above; irregular, organic outlines that feel both familiar and strange.

The hilltop structures grew out of negatives left behind from carving a larger wooden sculpture from my previous work Roots of the Abstract. By reworking these remnants, the pieces open a space between categories: somewhere between figurative life and abstraction, painting and sculpture, the known and the unfamiliar.
